My computer was recently hijacked and attacked and I am going to reset the entire system. What are the best tools that I can use to make my laptop SUPER secure. I mean no one in or out without me knowing, or if someone tries to get in / gets in I can track them down and know who they are.

I am new to this site so please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong cat or thread.

So far I have been told:

AVG / Avast
Zone Alarm or something similar
Make sure XP Firewall settings are up
Email tracing software (not really sure which is the best)
Spybot / Malwarebytes
Anti-keylogger
I was also told Outlook is not the safest......is there something better or safer?

Thanks again everyone! Please let me know if I am missing something or if something on the list isn't needed or worthy to be on the list........

I use Kaspersky internet security. I test a lot of malware and its pro active defense lets me know when a program is installing/intercepting keystrokes.. It is virtually impossible for any keylogger or trojan horse to bypass it.
If you want free, check out Comodo free firewall and microsoft security essentials.

Hi

I use the free AVG edition for years now and never had any problems.. I'm in the internet almost every time when I'm not at work and I'm surfing everywhere in the internet and never had any trojans or something ( at least i didn't realize it :D )..

Why would you pay money for a product which isn't better than a free one?
