You into this stuff Blacksheep?
You ever take note of the fact that windows loads gifs and bmps that are HIDDEN? And that these things bare names that are mysteriously similar to very old BATCH files they used to use in 1 2 3 etc? Like Bubbles....

Now why would a GIF be HIDDEN?
* raising one eyebrow*

Or a link, or a bmp, there are lots on WINME I can't even remember them all.

Necessary to a vital system program? I don't think~ so.

FBI... carnivore... echelon...
chaos....magicd.... why the extra BIOS on each computer? (IBM)

Lotsa questions.... you into this? How about that mysterious winsock 2 that just happens to be linked to that old Netscape bug of what?? 1995? Check out the CHALLENGE at this link if you want to get your brain started.here

I'm into all kinds of stuff Yabut. Computers is just one of em.

An invisible/clear/hidden gif on Web page is sometimes a Web bug, the purpose of which is to track you. You wanna go bug hunting? http://www.bugnosis.org/

What? You don't think I'm paranoid enough already? :)

Took a peek at your URL. Interesting.

hi,

I wonder y windows does that.the only reason i can think of is steganography again, hide something in the pixels and link it to some other process in this case.Better ideas?

HI,

y would extra bios raise an eye brow?I really wonder
one fails,use other :)
When does one fail?
When u brute force bios passwd (some times it happens)

Well its pretty sad that that most bios passwd have cracks and ur bios passwd is just a curtain for our eyes.
The bad part is that hell lot of them have back door passwds,so that u type in something with same check sum u will get in or u can get to crack them any way or just removing and inserting the battery will reset ur bios.

I would nt be mentioning the names of few famous bios crackers groups and where to find them since the forum rules doesnt permit that. How ever Mr Byte/Otto ,hackers will always find them and by not showing ordinary users where to find them and how they work is just keeping them in the dark. ages for ever.
The difference is that if a person knows first hand how to crack a passwd will help him keeping the passwd safe because he knows how the system works rather than lecturing him on "O,this is a vulnerability...does this or that" .
Its just my personal opinion, never mind :)

Regards Data.

The gifs and bmps (hidden ) etc are loaded FROM windows after a new format. Not picked up by surfing.
They bare names of batch files used by the old 1 2 3 programs of yester year. ( They're MACROS not STEG)

The extra BIOS is an IBM. It does not have anything to do with the BIOS you know and love and flash.

If you worry about bugs in webpages.... simply dis allow the RUNDLL to run by accessing your system info/ diag start up.Thats
found on my site too.

The only thing that it seems to stop me from running is certain cam programs. Other than that it stops the bugs and you can still
surf and do everything else. Except of course let your computer sleep cause its all tied up with power controls.

And speaking of bugs... AKAMIA stuff was being RE written. NONE of this stuff should be allowed at all, because the
governement is IMPOTENT in it's fight against cyber crime. No cyber criminal is afraid of being caught. They know damn well
that the authorities are light years behind them in even daily knowledge and exploits. The internet is a very dangerous place with
nimrod criminals who have learned to use very powerfull tools. Until the governement learns how to secure the internet, every one
is at risk. Problem is.. they can't, and they know it. You know what? You don't even NEED an ISP to get on line. * roe* How do
you like that ? And I don't mean hacking into someone's ISP account either.. I just mean .. grab a certain program... and plug into
the wall. That's it. The internet is a big radio wave ( for simplicity's sake ) so how would you secure a radio signal from being
used? You can inkript it from being read... but how do you keep someone from using the broadcast signal at all? Point...wireless
connectivity to the net. Wireless phones.

That's an interesting site BSheep.
I have a collection of BUGS with NO properties that I found in Email (written to me, and made to look like it came from major sites on line)

Bad BUGS have very little or no properties.
Right clicking the email to view header contents in point form (link info) showed me that the bugs I found had been rewritten for OTHER purposes by OTHER people. THIS is why I say ALL BUGS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED.

Paranoid?? * laughing*
Any smart person is always a lil paranoid.
A genious is someone who got too smart, and it drove him nuts.

What program is that, pray tell?? Do you think it could work with an ADSL or SDSL broadband connection? Would love to dump this ISP if possible.

There are new AND old programs that do this. One is( I think ) called river something. Basically it's just DOS connections/programs that have been revamped. They don't use TCP/IP connections.

What are you talking Yabut, hijack a WAN?

Don't you think wireless phone provider connects you to the copper and fiberoptic Internet?

"Where's the beef?" Yabut? Cough up the "certain program".

I'm just here to titilate your curiousity and get yer brain thinkin. If I tell you all my secrets...
well... *g~*

Actually I confess. Everytime I try to outright tell someone about this, weird things happen. THAT's how I ended up finding out all this stuff anyway ( Trial & error) and you know.. you'd be really surprised what you can do to a PC and it still works~. For instance.. I got hit with a bug that executed an order to have my hard drive go in a start up and shut down loop, BUT one other time...***...my computer wouldn't start at all. My teck said the motherboard was toasted.. but I convinced him to swap the processor chip, boot it up.. flash on THAT boot... and lo and behold.. by the luck of the Irish that I am born with.. *s* She booted like a charm... then we replaced it with the original process chip and rebooted and it was A OK. My teck was stumped. But like I said.. I have been through allot of weird computer problems * ahem* lately.

* toothy smile*

Now if I could JUST find someone who knows more than I do, to fill in the gaps... then I could truly understand the roots of the GUTS, and I wouldn't have to go through this lengthly cleaning process all the time. Though I think I have it nabbed now... it's still lengthly ( any format is) but man... Ill tell ya.. when I talk about it ppl think I'm nuts. I guess.. because they prefer to think they are all safe.. and also.. that it's just so far fetched.. If I had $5 for every time a computer teck or specialist said " That's IMPOSSIBLE", I could go on one helluva vacation...Jamaica.. I think.
* shrug*

Dare ya.

Once I took all the edit flags out of my registry.
You wouldn't believe what shows up on your computer that you didn't know was there. Programs you couldn't access before. etc.
I still don't know ( really) why a computer has a TAPE drive on it.( old fasioned kind) But... I doubt I ever will.
Course I wouldn't recommend anyone doing this unless they weren't connected to the net in any way..and... that if they screw something else up, they're prepared to reformat. But mine didn't effect any security stuff. ( I have a firewall)
( and I didn't have to reformat) It makes for interesting discovery.

Some things in the registry aren't searchable, you have to know the tree and track it down. That's another interesting point.
