2002,
That was a poke at Super Moderator for some help, not aimed at you.:)

"I have surfed to http://safesurf.cjb.net , my question is could we use the proxy service wihout prior to asking the proxy service provider permission first?"

*********ly one should ask proxy before using but I don't know anybody who does.

"May I know why the proxies service provider provide the proxy service? What do they gain from this?"

No permission is required from proxy service like http://www.megaproxy.com/ . They gain ad exposures, can ***** you, read your Web based email, etc...

A proxy is another computer that you go through to connect to Internet. Internet sees only proxy IP if proxy is anonymous. Any proxy you use can monitor all your traffic flowing through it. Some have no ulterior motives, others are set up for surveillance. S***est you read proxy threads in this forum.

"Thank you.

I'm a newbie too- there is so much to learn... :)

Blacksheep, you write "others (proxies) are set up for surveillance."

Can you back that up? I've heard this b4 but only in theory with nothing to substantiate it.

regards.

No I can't. Do you think proxy admin, FBI, CIA, FSB, etc. would tell the public? It's no theory that proxy can monitor your traffic and there have been dummy Web sites set up for sting operations. The problem is: "Which proxy can I trust?"
