Hey everyone!
I'm in a real sticky situation at the moment.
I am sharing a computer with someone who knows
far more about computers than i do.
Sadly he has put a password on the Administrator account
and limited my use of the computer.
Soooo.... when i come to want to install something,
or even check the calender i cant.
'I don't have the right privileges to do so :(
I was wondering is there anyway that i could bypass this password
as i have shed loads of work to do and all my saved stuff is in a docx
format (word 2007) and i cant install it because it wont allow me to do so.
So without it im totally screwed.
I have been told i can do it through System32/cmd.exe but it dosnt work :(
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Why don't you just ask him? I'm sure he wouldn't care about Word 2007 being installed.

You can just run Windows in Safe Mode, which will give you admin privleges. You can learn how to here:

There might be a few files on Windows privilege escalation here:

even if you did change your status from limited to admin hed catch it and probally uninstall it so my best advice is buy your own computer you can do what ever you want with it yes even be the administrator

the man asked how cand he get the admin pass, he did not want to justify his action. so, one shot would be using l0phtrack. i have used it in the past, and it worked fine. at least i used it for passwords 4 characters long, just as a test. but now i`m stuck with the same problem, i need the admin pass for a win xp pro, but i can`t get around it. anybody have any ideea? the option with running win in safe mode is not applicable, as i know for sure that the admin account has a password. thanks.
ps: and pls don`t ask me what do i need the pass for, that is not an answer for this problem.
