Direct2Drive exploiting?

Is it possible to exploit the direct2drive game service where you can buy games online? Like for instance download their games but dont pay for it, instead use a cracked exe to get rid of the direct2drive protection scheme whatever it is.

I did this with oblivion before but they have wisened up since then and require you to buy the game with a valid credit card number before you can get to the download.

It used to be you can download the game and then activate it by buying it but now you can't even get to the download unless you buy it.

So is there a way to get to their downloads without buying the stupid game like you used to be able to.

Ah, well I"m not exactly a warez expert, but the biggest direct2drive-type software is called Steam.

If you search around some warez forums, you'll find copies of your games, and you can download them and get them to work for free.
