Hi all,
Seems like everyone is looking into Opera these days. Even me. Found a website (seems okay - not redirected and is moderated like this one) at www.webmasterworld.com/forum23/... Fourth thread up from the last addresses some problems with Opera. Not to panic, there are problems with everything. But before folks let go of IE, as Piexa has reminded me, one should just keep investigating first. Why? Because a few of those forum participants went back to IE out of extreme frustration. I don't have the kind of savvy yet (operative word, yet :-)) to keep switching back and forth (as that caused some problems for those forum folks as well). Regards, Newbietoo

Hello Newbietoo. As I'm still looking for workable proxies, I have Opera "minnimized". I was looking for some help with a friends DSL woes so I visited MSN(icky poo poo) They won't let you surf with Opera so I had no choice but to call up IE. I surfed around and found what I thought would help and continued on my journey. Then it happenned.....IE...apparently fed up with the world and the bad rap it's getting decided to hang itself....then, just to prove it was still alive performed an illegal operation and thusly crashed!. The blue screen of death reared it's ugly head and "hitting any key" didn't do the trick so after about ten minutes I was forced to pull the plug. (I hate doing that).

Back to Opera....then back to MSN with IE(I swear IE is the roach of browsers....easily clobbered but just won't die).
So here I am with IE....MMMM still working at the moment.

When I have to visit a site that will only allow IE to view, I simply minnimize Opera, click IE and I'm off and stumbling.

Yes this was a rant. IE cost me ten minutes out of my day because MSN is a microsoft bed buddy and my friend was stupid enough to get a Dell computer(dude) Windows XP, and MSN dsl two month package thingie. Thats ten minutes I'll never have back to get a sandwich, scratch my backside, walk to the vcr to retrieve my ash tray, or refresh the ice in my coke.

I emailed Opera explainig the glowing seccess I have had with theire browser and will be sending them some genuine U.S. greenbacks as soon as they send me an address for a money order.

In conclusion.....this is a typical day with Microsoft. I'm useing it less and less because Microsoft seems to haave a hold on enough sites that I (we) have no choice but to use it once in a while.

OK, that's quite enough of that so I'll bid you a very good day and to quote a move line from Oh brother where art thou on my experience with Opera..."come on in boys...the water is fine!"

Have a nice day Newbietoo!

Hi Sigkim,
Wow - what a post!!! Anyway, what you described is what I have been reading about and the person I share a computer with would probably have my suitcases at the door (chuckles). Until I learn more, I'll have to stick with IE. I really wish, at this point, that another wizsomebody would come up with something to challenge Microsoft and components and bring just plain high tech. honesty into the picture.

Classes have started again, so I'll have to go back to reading posts for awhile. Thanks for all of your help, Sigkim. Later. Regards, Newbietoo
