Anybody know where I can get the old free version of Zonealarm? With automatic updates disabled, the new version
tries to start an internet connection at startup. For a firewall,
this is a contradiction.

Under Firewall tab,
select 'Zone'
then ADD
IP range

now enter these figures

ZONE : Blocked
IP address **8.4*.*6*.0
IP address **4.4*.*6*.255
Description: ZA*

hit apply

do it again with

ZONE : Blocked
IP address 2*6.*68.252.0
IP address 2*6.*68.255.254
Description: ZA2


stop Zone alarm
start it again

now ZoneAlarm is so docile and quite, it will not call home anymore.
