==============================
You can use socks in a 'ANY Client' that support socks.
A client could be a browser, an FTPclinet, a P2P client (like napster or Kazaa) etc..
provided that it has a setup window where you can enter the 'Socks' IP/Address and Port.
[[Same as the setup window where you enter proxies]] but it shoud be written 'Socks'.
If the client does not have this kind of setup window then you cannot not use socks with it.

Usually the socks port is *080.

Now, two type of socks are available sock4 and sock5.
sock 4 DOES NOT support identification. It means that you do not need log and pass to get in.
sock 5 DOES support identification. It means that if you don't have the log and password you CANNOT get thru even if you enter the IP and the port in the appropritae fields.
