ok haha i hope you all laugh at this because i know i did. i JUST (maybe a week ago) discovered poison ivy... i started experimenting with it and to me i think its pretty awesome. so from what i understand.. i huge amount of people use p2p programs to look for cracks and stuff for apps.. so what this is telling me.. if i can use a resource hack to change the icon of the server.exe, along with an encryptor, and a safe packing from microsoft's built in iexpress.. i can create a pretty sick trojan? and when i say sick im talking about a huge up the a$$ hosts rape along with a raid of pictures and maybe make it spread out to the users p2p file sharing folder so it can do the same to countless people...

guys haha it can't be this easy can it?

Yes, it can be that easy. Those who mess with cracks/serials usually end up with problems.

Iexpress won't make them undetectable, as antivirus programs are constantly scanning executables as they run, and once the trojan is extracted, it will recognise it.

Where does all this bullshit information come from? I see it on here every time I log in.

you mean why im posting in all the forums subjects? i don't know maybe i WANT to stimulate the forum so we can get just a bit more interaction...

don't you think i know that? thats why i said "along with an encryptor first. so encrypt the trojan, pack it with iexpress (along with the other files to create a single .exe) then upload it.. like i said bro.. you don't even know me and as soon as i got back to the forums you start flaming me.. ill admit i don't know everything there is to virus/phishing whatever but i know enough.. if i did anything to insult you and i don't remember then im sorry, but seriously lay off the flaming

There are other ways, such as ICMP reflection. Send ICMP echo requests to many hosts with the source address spoofed as your target's. These hosts will then be tricked into flooding the target with ICMP responses, exhausting bandwidth an.

The number of computers is irrelevant, the bandwidth available is. A single compromised server with a fast connection can knock as cable or DSL modem offline. Several of these can knock a smaller web server offline. But there are typically tens or hundreds of zombies (compromised PCs and servers) in any botnet powerful enough to take servers offline for any amount of time. Though larger numbers are better, as they are more difficult to block by filtering IPs.

No one with any experience with net issues recommends that people respond to spam with an opt-out request. That's irresponsible.

All you've done is confirm that the email address is live, and someone actually opened it. That moves you up the spam hierarchy.

Never respond directly to spam. Try not to even open it, as much of it contains tracking images or virus-laden attachments.

It's a shame our legislators took so much money from the DMA to pass the "You Can Spam" Act. This makes everything so much more difficult.

If you get spam text messages on your phone, contact your phone provider. Right now, they allow spam because they profit from it. But if their operators become more tied up responding to complaints, maybe they'll be more aggressive about it in the future.
