How do I check if i have a trojan on my pc? And how do I take it off?

I've been using alot of virus scanners but there has only been one that has told me that i have a trojan on my computer. But all the other ones I use say I dont. Is there a way i can find out if I have one for sure? And what is a free way I can get rid of it?
