Hi pc -*0*,
If you don't encrypt folders and don't hide them, why do you need a password? For password-protected access to these folders? Won't work, at least under Windows. Get a good drive or file encryption program, such as BestCrypt, PGPDisk, or DigiSecret, and be safe.

U CAN HIDE IT THOUGH
HI,
oN WIN *5 AND *8 U CAN HIDE UR FOLDERS.
THIS is how i used to do it.
i make a folder in dos
eer let me try an eg:
c:/>md folder(press alt+255)
well when u make that after typing
md folder type the next chareter as alt+255 (a blank charecter)
alt and 255 pressed together.
put all ur files in it.
U cann use any number of alt+255 in succesion with the folder name.
now if u type in dos
c:>cd folder
it will say bad command or file name
u should give an alt+255 after folder
coz when u made that folder u gave
Md folder(pressed alt+255)
SO TO OPEN folder type
c:/>cd folder(press alt+255)
ok,now if u try to open this folder in windows-it will say" This folder does not exist".this folder cannot be deleted or moved to recycle bin.
now to access this folder under windows u will have to go to dos
and
c:/>ren folder(alt+255) some_other_name
and if more u can hide ur folder by rite clicking on folder go to properties
and click on hide.
i hope i am clear to u,if not dont hesitate to ask and i hope this will help ya. :)

why a password????
IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE IT WOULD BE THE EASIEST AND FASTEST WAY TO ACCESS MY FOLDERS...... instead of encrypting and decrypting or hiding and showing ... etc...
thanx anyway..........
