Proxies not working???????

Ok, here's is my problem, I've tried several different highly anonymous proxies when doing the proxy test, and none of them seem to work- ie my real IP address is still visible. I know the proxies work, because, other people have told me that they use them. So why don't the proxies work 4 me? Are there certain settings (in XP Pro), that I have to change?

Try disabling scripts and try again.

Depending of what browser I use (Explorer, Netscape...ect) I find using proxies on certain ports work better. I find explorer likes proxies on port 80. Netscape on 8000
