.OCX/activex in html

hi,
I've been working on an activex control (.ocx) and i need to get the control from my computer onto the internet. i know all about the dangers of activex, and i still want to use it. i do not have much experience with html. and from what i have found that tells me how to put an ocx into html, i need to use a classid. i have followed instructions that take me to the registry, but for some reason, i can't find the id. if anyone has done this before and can give me some advice, i would really appreciate it.
