    Lost Audio

    I use Windows XP.
Since I replaced my Video Card, my Audio doesn't work. My Audio jack in attached to my Mother ***rd.
In Sounds and Audio Device Properties in the Volume Tab it says "No Audio Device". I can't turn the volume up there because it's faded and not allowing me to do that.
In the Hardware Tab there is NVIDIA Defintion Audio that says is woking properly along with a Legacy Audio driver that says the same.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

If its showing "No device attached" then there is some problem with your audio driver... Get it checked from some computer expert..

go to your audio hardware's website, and try to download it's drivers. i am sure you'll get your sound back.

If you can’t find the right Audio drivers manually I would recommend just getting a software program that can do it for you. There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it.

the speaker icon at the taskbar has an "red x" image beside it and when I'd opened it there's no audio devices installed. now i'd searched the web for related problems, all solutions s***ests that I go to control panel and device manager and look for 'sound, game controllers.." but the problem is that I can't find it. all I can see that is related to the audio is "system speaker". i'd opened it's properties and says it has "no drivers installed in this device". I'd tried inserting a headphones with usb plug and there was a sound but when i'd removed the headphones the sound was gone and the player stopped because it hadn't detected an audio device. now what shall i do?

You can go buy a sound card from any computer store. They are relatively cheap and that way you just plug it into your computer and viola! you have sound without getting all ********* with uninstalling and reinstalling things!

*. Click the volume control on the Task Bar. Make sure the Mute is unchecked. If the speaker icon is not present it may due to no sound driver is installed.

    2. Make sure your antivirus is installed & up to date
    • Right click My Computer
    • Manage
    • Device Manager
    • Sounds & Audio Controls
If there is a yellow question mark next to one or more of the drivers, then right click & "Update Driver"
Also check "Other Devices". There may be addition audio drivers within.

    *. Speaker Settings
    • Start
    • Control Panel
    • Sounds & Audio Devices
    • Volume
    • Speaker Settings
    • Advanced
    • Speaker Setup
    • Desktop Stereo Speakers
    • Apply
    • OK
