What or who are you trying to hide your IP adress from? If you are trying to hide it while downloading music w/ whatever program you are using you must use a proxy server if the program offers it. If not make sure you are behind a "Hardware" Firewall. You can also disable sharing of files. If you are worried about getting busted for "illegally downloaded music" place your downloads in a directory not associated w/ the program you are using.

Hope this answers your question

Try Using a Program called Filetopia for music sharing and downloading, it will protect better than some of the other filesharing programs, but nothing can protect you *00%. Also, download and install protowall firewall and use blocklist manager to get a list of bad IPS that can conncect to your computer while you are downloading music and ***** your real IP.

You can get Protowall and BlockList Manager from here and register on the forum for free support.

You can get Filetopia from here: //http://www.filetopia.org/

If you don't like Filetopia and like using your current filesharing program more, at least use Protowall, it will give your IP "some" protection.

as SyntaX****** stated get a proxy server i use sockschain @ www.ufasoft.com/socks

to hide files on your Harddrive. Download PGP w pgpdisk ver 6.0.*i this creates a encrypted partition which will safely hide any sensitive files or information. Access is through a password, make it unique

Test any proxy @ http://www.stilllistener.com/checkpoint*/
make sure your IP isn't seen.. Also disable activeX and Java Script in your browser... as your ip will be seen if the website uses java..
search for privacy and or proxy on Google and read...

To hide your IP and personal information I use a software named Go-Liberty: http://www.themobiweb.com/en/Go-Liberty/download.html it's more quick than other softwares that I have tried them before
