Arrow retrieving intelliforms/spw registry

Which encryption method is used by microsoft to encrypt the autopassword system ? (the system that saves usernames/passwords of internetpages in the registry) Or even better, can you provide me with a link to a tool (freeware if possible) that will fetch me the username and password ? I will not use it for 'evil' purposes, just trying out some things.

Microsoft LAN Manager (LM) was the *st protocol,
It was superseded by NTLM http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/secauthn/security/microsoft_ntlm.asp
and finally by the NTLMv2

google for it and you'll find a lot about it..
BTW, it is a HASH method rather than an encryption.
