    IP's using netstat

I've done netstat -an, netstat -n, and a bunch of others but I still can't tell what the person's IP addy is. I am directly connected to them in AIM and when I do the netstat cmd it has a bunch of addresses and they don't change from before I was connected.

    oh man,
this problem b***ed the hell out of me when i first got into hacking thru aim.

ontop of having the DC, you have to be sending or recieving a file.

so have you cmd window open with the command "netstat -n" typed in, but not executed, then send the file, and then hit enter in your cmd window.

sometimes it helps to use a Hex Editor to add lots of zeros to the end of the file, so it's take a bit of time for it to send, that way you make sure the netstat command find the opened connection.

    really hope that helps!

Aim fixed that... Their server acts as the middle man now. You will not get their ip

    FRIEND >---filesent----AIMSERVER>----filesent----RECIEVING FRIEND

As you can see the recieving friend will get the IP address of the AIM SERVER and not the original friend sending the file.

    Are you sure?

When you're actually sending the file, I can still get the users IP using netstat -n...

it shows up an a random port, but it's there.

i did this a few times last night also.

and another tip, if you can't get it with netstat, search google and download the small program currports, it is much faster, and has more cool goodies with it.
