I may be wrong, but I doubt a course like that is teaching you to build keyloggers... But it might be useful for learning the basics.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion. I recommended learning C++ and the Windows API; with those you can build any application on Windows. You need to know programming to make anything - there isn't any "How to make keyloggers in * easy steps!" tutorials out there, and if there was you'd be following a script and writing nothing yourself.
