    Website

Hi! My cousin is asking for my help to look for someone to build her own website. Is it expensive? How much does it usually cost. Who will maintain the said website? Please help! Thanks!

A lot of what you want to know depends on site content, or what she plans to do with her site.

Is she planning on selling something that will necessitate her having a shopping cart or taking payments through paypal or other source? Or is it more on the lines of putting out information or a topic she wants to promote?

I believe most web hosting companies usually have some ready-made templates for their clients to make use of. Depending on her site, and her skill level, it might not take all that much to maintain it herself. I've never paid anyone to build or maintain my sites so I can't speak to that.

I've used liquidweb.com in the past. They have managed and unmanaged plans and may be able better answer your questions.

Awardspace is a good free hosting site IMO, but you have to do everything yourself. I've used it too and liked it for the fact it didn't have ads or keep my code from being validated.

She wants to set up a travel website and accept advertisements once it ranks higher on search engines. That is why she's looking for someone who can design, set-up and keep her website up and running. Based on the blogs that I read online it seems like investing on internet marketing services are the best option at this point. I found this website http://www.demandwave.com/services/ they received high ratings from their clients.. Are you familiar with their company?

I've never heard of them but from what I could find out it looks like they've been in business for *2 years:

"Founded in 2004, DemandWave (formerly Webmarketing*2*) is the premier B2B digital marketing agency. A trusted Google Partner and two-time member of the Inc. 500|5000 list, DemandWave helps clients drive more sales-qualified leads and revenue with our data-driven approach to SEO, SEM, Display Advertising, and Content Marketing. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, DemandWave develops and drives impactful digital marketing strategies for B2B clients ranging from fast growth startups to Fortune *00 brands."

(Forum censors the word yah oo for some reason so I added a space in the link.)

Since you're looking to have them build a site, how does their own site rank? The following site found problems with their use of Og Meta Properties, Images, I-frames and code validation among other things:

Another look at their site stats:

Other ranking sites didn't have any info on them and said it looked like a new site. Probably due to the recent name change from Webmarketing*2*.

******** Service will be an issue. How do people who work there feel about the company?

Check out their history as Webmarketing*2* too.

I couldn't find any user reviews from people who actually use their services.

If it was me I'd look at other established travel sites and see who set theirs up. Then she can do some comparison shopping to see who she thinks will be her best choice. By checking out other sites she can also see how they run things to get a feel for it before making her final decision.

    Best of luck.
