Post Hacking Tutorial Site(s)

The idea
Post your favorite hacking tutorial site and maybe leave a brief synopsis of what a visitor will find there. Don't post a ton of links, we all know there are tons of hacking sites. Leave the list of links for a search engine.

You'll find videos of how to hack with tools and just a windows box. He will also teach you some coding in MsDOS so the complete noob can feel a bit smarter than a novice.

We all searched for 'hacking' tutorials when we were beginners (and we learned from them), but ultimately they're only teaching you to follow a script (thus the term 'script-kiddy'). By all means learn from the authors' expertise (I'm not saying hacking tutorials are bad), but in the end you'll reach a point where you want to (and know enough to) do things yourself. I used to load my computer up with security tools (web vulnerability scanners, brute-forcers, etc) and hacking tutorials, but now I don't bother. You can hack the web with just a browser.

That's why I'll recommend this tutorial:

http://lib.daemon.am/Books/C/

I've decided to switch to C from C++. Above is 'Teach Yourself C in 2* Days'. Very ambitious, but that's the sort of thing that'll give you real knowledge. Try some basic web scripting if that is too advanced for your knowledge.

Back to my original point, here's an example. If you follow a tutorial, you learn how to exploit a feature of X website to gain access to the members' section. Problem is, ten thousand other people reached that tutorial via Google, so the vulnerability has been fixed. If you gain real knowledge via programming and computer tutorials, you visit X website and discover your own vulnerability, becoming the tutorial-writer himself. That's all if you're malicious; security can be used for legitimate reasons.

I see a chance for self-promotion,

My site:

www.exoteric.ws

Well, actually there's not much there. I've only made a couple of tutorials for it and I need to do a lot of work on it still.

Oh yeah, Halla's site has some decent text files and forum (although I mirror some of them in my 'Text FIles Archive' section, with full ****** given of course):

www.informationleak.net

Finally, Totse has some interesting content (for the '80s, that is):

www.totse.com

Looks like I posted a ton of links.

Amazing site to get tools, tutorials, ebooks, etc.

But they do ban leechers rather fast, so if your only joining just to get the benefits and not to contribute, then don't bother.

A useful tool: Metasploit

http://metasploit.com/

" This is the Metasploit Project. The goal is to provide useful information to people who perform penetration testing, IDS signature development, and exploit research. This site was created to fill the gaps in the information publicly available on various exploitation techniques and to create a useful resource for exploit developers. The tools and information on this site are provided for legal security research and testing purposes only. "

Have a virus, but need a way into the system to execute the virus? This will allow you to find a hole in their security.
