Is your hard drive making a repeated clicking sound when the computer boots up? You may need to take off the plastic cover protecting the hard drive to hear this sound. If its not making the sound, I can help you SEND ME A PM. If it is making a clicking sound, it will cost a LOT of ***** to fix, but if the data is worth it you can get it back. Let me know either way and I can point you in the right direction.

The PC shops probably can not help you out. Sounds like you need an actual hard drive repair utility that costs around a few thousand dollars. You might want to give these guys a call but I can tell you know, it will not be cheap.

Just curious but is your bios reading the drive?

There is still hope. One of your boot sectors or your entire first platter could be damaged. Only special software can bypass this to access your data. Give that company a call, they can help.

    some places to try

Hi i kinda know about this in away

first look at this site and read as it may help you asses wther or not your HDD id DEAD or not and also some other info to trubleshot

try looking in to useing this if you HDD is working:

sounds like it is you MBR so try this tool not looked in to it much http://www.ambience.sk/fdisk-******-boot-record-windows-linux-lilo-fixmbr.php

the file is called "MbrFix.exe" scand it would "Avast" and didn't show up a virus

if not look to this site for help and you may only have to pay a small amount of just crack the software
    (http://www.active-undelete.com/) there homepage is (http://www.lsoft.net/)

the way i can think about doing this is to network your HDD (laptop) to a working computer then on the working computer load the Undelete and look for the HDD that you lost info on and try and recover the info otherwise fromat your C: drive and do a quick fromat as it will only delete the NTFS MFT (New Technology File System: ****** File Table) and then load the OS to the back end of the HDD so not to re-wirte over the data

(one thing to remember is that the OS will wirte to any available space on your HDD and not keep it neat and to the closes sector os you may still overwirte info anyway so try not to if you can)

then use the networking Tip so that you don't overwirte the data your trying to get back

they also have an online undelete but i don't know how much that costs

ALSO PLEASE PLEASE READ MORE IN TO THIS AS I WOULD HATE IT IF YOU TRIED TO DO THIS AND YOU LOST ALL YOUR DATA IM NOT *00% SURE TIS WILL WORK BUT THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN THINK ABOUT HOW TO DO IT SORRY IF IT DIDN'T HELP

really sorry about the spelling and what not i have (dyslexia) GIYF it's my friend lol best spell checker i know
