Changing MAC Number

Do any of you guys know anything about a tut or any similar article that explains how to change a pcs MAC number.

first, is it possible to change a MAC number? i know that its a unique identification number, so well it hurt the system if i changed it?

if possible then how many times could i change my MAN number without any side effects.
