    Cain and Abel V4.*

I just downloaded cain and abel version 4.* and even watched a video tutorial. I did everything it said and when i started the sniffer on it it seems that it's only sniffing my IP range. I was wondering if there was any way to fix that. Any and all help you can give me would be much appreciated.

    Thanx,

    DC

To sniff another network's traffic, you have to be on that particular network. When you "connect" to them via Yahoo! your just sending traffic back and forth to the other's network, you're not really connected to their network.

I mean my other sniffers work for sniffing the traffic. I just cant figure out how to set up cain and abel to do it.

You have to be within the range of their network. Sniffing someone's traffic is like reading their physical mail from the mailbox. You can't do it if you're not near the person's mailbox (i.e. connected to their network).

Your other sniffers are probably sniffing your own Internet traffic.

i think what my problem is is figuring out how to tap into the exact network they are in.

If you don't know how to connect to a network, then there's really no hope for you sniffing traffic. Here it is plain and simple

If you aren't close enough in range to the person's wireless network to connect to it, then you can't connect to it, and you can't sniff its traffic.
