    anonymity from ISP

I occasionally use some of the free anonymous surfing proxies, however is there any way I can also not have my high speed cable provider view my surfing *****s. I see Anonymizer has some sort of " tunneling service", but I don't want to pay for this level of security or any, as I don't have that much to hide anyways. Is this the only way to get something between me and my ISP? I've seen a post explain putting in for example Proxyspinner directly into the browser set-up (in the tools- internet options) but would this method be any better than my current method of first starting up with my ISP homepage (which I don't mind) and then inputting Proxyspinner into the address bar?
