    Is FTP being trackable?

    Dear all,

    My Uni given a notice that they are working with some IS organizations in enforcing copyright law. Proven infringement of download & upload of movies & music files will get serious action.

    I wish to ask all experts here, is FTP safe for downloading stuff? (i mean if i d/l abc.mp3 will they trackable?)

    If the uni is running a packet sniffer that catches incomming connections as well and they are looking for "mp3",they can trace you.
