lol. I am guilty of sometimes not checking all of the forums to see if there are similar posts -- This topic has been mentioned a couple times, though. And I think the only real thing you can do for your connection is download a net accelerator - which would only increase your browsing/speed slightly but it'd help. Don't download a bogus one though. I'm sure somewhere here can help.

You can use Internet Accelerator software such as Internet Cyclone, Proxyconn Accelerator.

Also you may block images from sites.
If you are a Firefox user, go to > Tools> >Page Info>> Permissions>> Load Images>> Uncheck “Use Default”>>Select “Block”.
